Mark Gaskin joined Manitou in 2009 and serves as President and Chairman, in addition to supporting the firm's research and portfolio management activities. Prior to joining Manitou, Mark co-founded Cranston, Gaskin, O'Reilly & Vernon Investment Counsel in 1995, retiring in July 2008. Prior to working at CGOV, he spent approximately five years as a Partner and Vice-President of Beutel, Goodman & Company. Mark is a graduate of the University of Toronto where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and holds the Chartered Investment Management (CIM) designation. Mark is active in his community, having served as a board member and trustee of numerous charitable organizations and private companies including Branksome Hall, The Appleby College Foundation, Appleby College (Governor Emeritus), the Canadian Diabetes Association, Consolidated Energy Solutions, and Canadian General Tower Limited.
