Position Overview
The Associate Investment Counsellor position is designed for those early in their career who are eager to develop their skills in the investment advisory field. You will be involved in both client support and business development, learning the ropes of delivering high-touch, personalized services that have earned Manitou Investment Management Ltd. the trust of 200+ clients that include Individual & Families, Foundations and Institutions. Key Responsibilities
- Client Support & Engagement: Assist in managing a portfolio of clients by providing exceptional service and ensuring their investment needs are met.
- Investment Expertise: Develop an excellent understanding of Manitou’s investment process and mandates to effectively engage with clients.
- Learning & Development: Gain a deep understanding of Manitou’s investment philosophy, products, and services, with a focus on developing an excellent understanding of Manitou’s investment process and mandates.
- Prospecting & Outreach: Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive outreach and building a network of professionals to cultivate client relationships.
- Sales Support: Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to prospective clients, under the guidance of senior team members.
- Financial Analysis: Assist in developing tailored investment strategies and proposals, working closely with senior counsellors and portfolio managers.
- Market Research: Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and industry best practices to support client advisory efforts.
- Collaboration: Work alongside senior counsellors to ensure cohesive client experiences and successful strategy execution.
- Revenue Growth: Assist seasoned Investment Counsellors in achieving and surpassing revenue and profitability targets, contributing to the firm’s overall success.
Qualifications & Skills
- 1-3 years of experience in financial services, wealth management, or related fields (internship experience considered).
- Strong analytical skills, with a keen interest in capital markets and investment strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-first mindset.
- Self-starter with a willingness to learn and a strong desire to grow in the investment advisory field.
- A post-secondary degree in Finance, Business, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Enrolment in or completion of CFA Level 1 or CIM / CFP program is an asset.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
